My wife Tammy and I have lived full-time in Lake County District 1 since my retirement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2010. We have been married 39 years, have 2 adult sons and 2 beautiful grand children. As a senior, parent, and grand parent, I am acutely aware of the high costs of housing, health care and food. 

Before moving to Leadville, I spent over 20 years in law enforcement. As a candidate for Commissioner, I bring to the table decades of public service and community involvement. 

Since moving to Lake County I have worked as an Outward Bound Instructor, Ski Instructor and Supervisor at Copper Mountain, railroad conductor, haul truck driver and lab tech at the Climax Mine. I understand the concerns of the citizens of Lake County because first and foremost, I consider myself a hard working, tax paying citizen just like everyone else. 

Since being appointed to the Board of County Commissioners in April 2024, I have taken a pragmatic, objective, and fiscally responsible approach to making decisions. If elected, I intend to continue governing in a manner that is collaborative, transparent and effective.
